A TRIBUTE TO… HANDMADE FLASHCARDS!

In his Theory of Multiple Intelligences, the psychologist and Harvard Professor Howard Gardner indicates that it is absolutely essential for educators to appeal to a wide range of learner types at every stage of a class.

Flashcards are a genuinely versatile learning tool that can be used to cater for different learning styles when introducing new concepts and vocabulary. They are particularly engaging for visual and kinesthetic learners and, therefore, they form an integral part of teaching in our young learners’ English classes. They add a hands-on component to our lessons, which is so valuable to our youngsters!

Creating our own handmade flashcards means that there is no limit to what we can create! Our flashcards can take any shape and form as long as they motivate our young learners and engage them in hands-on learning activities! This week, our 1st graders are having fun learning the verb “to be” with our set of “Yummy Flashcards” and are revising vocabulary with our colourful “At the Zoo!” flashcards!
