Understanding emotions is a critical part of children's overall development. It is up to us to teach children to understand and deal with their emotions in appropriate ways.
During our CLIL lesson, our second graders have been working on activities relevant to emotions. Particularly, pieces of cardboard were given to them to draw the expression of their faces which then coloured. Modelling clay was also used by our students in order for the activity to be completed. The aim of this project was to encourage the expression of their feelings as well as to improve their fine motor skills.
Our young learners enjoyed the whole procedure and realised that not all people feel the same way and feelings can change from one moment to the other.
