Carnival time is here and the students are looking forward to its celebration. They are continually talking about their costumes, the forthcoming school party and about the carnival traditions in our country. Within the context of our discussion about this festival, we came up with the idea to work on different celebrations around the world. The students of the fifth class were divided into groups and a celebration was assigned to them. The pupils worked on their iPads and later presented their projects to their classmates. The children talked about the Spanish custom of throwing tomatoes during "La Tomatina" festival, they referred to the Chinese New Year and its traditions. "Bonfire Night" was also an interesting festival related to the UK's history with its amazing fireworks. What is more, "Cinco De Mayo" and "Loy Krathong" were also presented by the students and although these festivals are not so well known they found a lot of information and their projects were really interesting.
